Waggin’ Weekends at Dovetail Brewery
If you live in Chicago, you’ll be pleased to know that a Yappy Hour is never fur away!
Over 47% of households in the United States have a dog, many of which are right here in the Windy City. Chicago has earned its place in the Top 10 Dog-Friendliest Cities in America due to its abundance of accommodating parks, restaurants and apartment buildings.
If you’re like me, you enjoy a good Chicago Happy Hour. Now, your furry friend can join you in the fun at a number of participating local establishments. While you sip on your suds or beverage of your choice, Fido can revel in the luxury with a bowl of fresh water (non-alcoholic, of course), special treats and plenty of room to romp around and socialize with other dogs.
Below are some top Yappy Hours in Chicago:
Amli Lofts
Tail Waggin’ Fun at Dovetail Brewery
The downtown Chicago apartments of AMLI Lofts offer several opportunities for dogs and their owners to get together on the rooftop deck for amazing views of the city and complimentary adult beverages. You’ll get a chance to spend some quality time getting to know your neighbors, while sharing a common interest. The Yappy Hours at Amli Lofts are reserved for tenants only – just one of the dog-gone great reasons to consider living in these South Loop apartments with your furry friend.
Dovetail Brewery
If you are looking to jump on the CTA Brown Line and head north with your pup, you can easily find a Yappy Hour at Dovetail Brewery each and every day. Located in Chicago’s North Center, Dovetail Brewery encourages you to enjoy an authentic hand-crafted beer in the tap room, while your pooch unleashes with an endless supply of complimentary water. From time-to-time, special spent grain dog treats are dished out to good dogs, as well.
Weekly tours of the brewery are offered on Saturdays from 11 a.m. to noon. The cost is $15, which includes three free beers.
Burnham Point
Another set of apartments in the South Loop, Burnham Pointe, has gone above and beyond to provide some tail-wagging treats for residents and their furry-clad friend. Not only do they bring everyone together once a month during the summer for a social hour, they also provide food for tenants to enjoy. There are plenty of perks for your pup too, like doggie treats and dog-friendly ice cream. What dog owner could resist living at a location that helps you spoil your dog in style?
Joe’s on Weed
Located in Lincoln Park, Joe’s on Weed restaurant and concert hall opens their rooftop deck to people with pups every Wednesday, from 5pm during the summer months. There you’ll find drink specials for humans and a great spot for mutts to mix and mingle. Your dog will be in for a real treat, literally. The extensive bar menu for humans is amazing, too. Be sure to bark your calendar for this fun weekly event!
312 Chicago
Located in The Loop, 312 Chicago is home to “Waggin’ Weekends” for pups on the patio. The pooch-friendly event takes place every Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., when weather permits. It features home-baked dog treats, $7 doggie entrees and $4 dog snacks (including Beefcicle and Peanut Butter Biscuits).
For us pet owners, there’s plenty of scrumptious Italian cuisine and a long list of alcoholic beverages to enjoy.
I foresee even more restaurants and downtown Chicago apartments embarking on Yappy Hours and other Fido-friendly endeavors, so be sure to check back soon. If you’re looking for dog friendly apartments in Chicago, or just human-friendly apartments downtown, check us out at hotspotrentals.com.
