Tribune Tower East in Streeterville to Hold Second Tallest Building in Chicago

It’s official.  The Tribune Tower East is going up and we do mean UP!

Stretching a stunning 1,422 feet high, Tribune Tower East will be home to brand new luxury apartments in Chicago’s Streeterville – located just east of the Tribune Tower. Streeterville is sectioned by the Chicago River, Magnificent Mile, and Lake Michigan so you can just imagine the breathtaking views from this impressive skyscraper.

Taller than the Trump Hotel & Tower, these glass-encased luxury apartments will be in coalition with four historical Chicago buildings, including the Chicago Tribune. The Tribune, formally the home of the Chicago Tribune newspaper printing plant, is an astounding neo-gothic architectural work of art and an official landmark. 

Developing Details

Golub & Co, responsible for other luxury Chicago apartments that include Moment, The Streeter, and 1001 S State, and co-developers, the CIM Group, have recently uncloaked their ambitious plans for the tower which will include 439 upscale rental apartments, 125 for-sale condos, and a 200-room luxury hotel.

The 1925 Tribune Tower, located next door, will be repurposed into 160 luxury condos. A coveted 430 space parking garage will grace the grounds as well.

Solomon Cordwell Buenz & Vinci Hamp Architects will head up the conversion of the ground floor retail spaces (10,000 square feet of shopping!) and second-floor office spaces.

Construction on the mix-use tower is set to begin later this year.

High Expectations at Tribune Tower East

The Tribune Tower East luxury apartments will sport an incredible selection of amenities and are expected to be a combination of studio, 1-, 2-, and 3- bedroom floor plans. We also anticipate some lucky individuals will be living the dream in some larger than life luxury suites.
