River North Introduces Luxury Micro-Apartments with Amli 808

Sometimes, a fresh new concept is just what a project needs to get off the ground.  That’s exactly what the Chicago developer, Amli Residential, was betting on when the well-established company took over the failed construction site at 808 North Wells Street in River North.

Plans are now formally set in place for the continued building of luxury apartments in Chicago’s River North on the northwest corner of Chicago and Wells …but with a twist.  Instead of the 342-foot tower formally proposed by the previous developer, the building will be short and sweet – really sweet if you’re into futuristic compact conveniences.  Rising at 17 stories, the apartments now deemed “Amli 808”, will feature modern micro-apartments.

Developer and Designer Team Up for Another Promising Project

If the name “Amli” rings a bell, it’s probably because Amli Residential has built quite a reputation for itself in the Chicago area.  Amli River North, Amli Lofts, and Amli 900 in the South Loop are some of the upscale downtown luxury apartments the nationwide developer is responsible for.

Hartshorne Plunkard Architecture has joined with Amli to offer up their expertise in the design and building of 808 N Wells. The two teamed up for the recently opened SixtyForty at N. Wells and Essex on the Park with amazing results, so it will be exciting to see yet another team project.
