If you’ve had your eye on a move to Chicago’s Fulton Market District, I have good news. This pocket neighborhood in the West Loop, which has seen tremendous growth over the past several years, is home to a brand-new luxury apartment building. After much anticipation, One Six Six apartments will welcome new residents in late spring of 2023.
The newest luxury apartment building in Fulton Market, One Six Six stands 21 stories tall at 166 N. Aberdeen Street. The glassy building holds 224 spanking new apartments and has retail space waiting to be leased on the ground level.
WHO DEVELOPED ONE SIX SIX APARTMENTS?
Chicago real estate developer MCZ Development was the original team behind the One Six Six project. They saw potential in the building site – a former Fabbri sausage plant – and got the project off the ground in 2019. But in late 2021, the building was sold to international real estate developer and property manager, Greystar for a cool $16 million.
Architecture, design, and planning firm SCB took the lead on the design of One Six Six. Nationally known for their work on luxury apartments, cool corporate offices, and retail spaces, SCB knocked Six One One’s design out of the park.

One Six Six has tons of 1-bedroom floor plans, including junior 1-bedrooms; a smaller, and cheaper option for renters looking for an affordable apartment in Fulton Market.
Check out this awesome, and super-spacious, 1-bedroom floor plan. It’s full of features that make the apartment feel extra roomy. A defined dining area, a walk-in closet, and little luxuries like a double vanity are the details that’ll sell you. And, take a look at that work-from-home office nook. Not having to work from your bedroom is a total game-changer.
Finding a large apartment in the West Loop isn’t always easy, so I’m so happy to see that One Six Six has big 2-bedroom and even 3-bedroom penthouse apartments for rent.

Jump on the train and you’ll be in the center of downtown Chicago in mere minutes. The train also gets you to the Illinois Medical District super quick, making One Six Six a great place to call home if you work at Rush University Medical Center.
