Fun Fact
Streeterville is named for George Streeter, who in the late 19th century laid claim to a patch of land by deliberately running his boat aground and declaring it “reclaimed” territory. Despite legal challenges and skirmishes with law enforcement, his claim to the land ultimately prevailed.
