Fun Fact
Streeterville is named for George Streeter, who in the late 19th century laid claim to a patch of land by deliberately running his boat aground and declaring it “reclaimed” territory. Despite legal challenges and skirmishes with law enforcement, his claim to the land ultimately prevailed.

When you live in Streeterville you can leave your car behind. If you go to school or work downtown, strap on your sneakers and start your day with a walk.
If your commute isn’t walkable, hop on the CTA Red Line and take the train to South Loop, Old Town, Lincoln Park and beyond. Or if you’re really feeling it, jump on a Divvy bike and zoom around Chicago’s bike-friendly corridors.
