Finally, a new, downtown Chicago apartment that offers both modern and luxury finishes, without the heavy price tag. Welcome to Linkt, located at Milwaukee and Elston in the River West neighborhood.
The “anti-highrise,” Linkt is a low-rise, managed apartment building with 47 units spread between 5 floors, offering studio, 1 bed, and 2 bed luxury apartments. Located just west of River North and the Loop, Linkt is ideally set half a block from the CTA Blue Line stop at Grand, and a 5 minute commute to the heart of downtown.
Living in Linkt
The idea behind Linkt is pretty simple: a manageable-sized, boutique property with all of the amenities that people really want, including:
- Fitness center with cardio equipment and free weights
- Secured access
- On-site, heated parking
- Press-Box dry-cleaning
- A green roof deck with gas grills and fire pits
- Amazing skyline views
Linkt nailed it with the apartments themselves. Each apartment features in-unit laundry, quartz countertops, top of the line appliances and fixtures, 9’6″ ceilings, Nest thermostats and 500mbps WiFi. My favorite feature – angled windows that allow sunlight, but deflect headlights and other light along Milwaukee Avenue. Pretty cool!
Linkt’s main selling feature is their location and ease of getting anywhere fast. With the central location of River West, you’re 5 minutes from downtown, Wicker Park, or West Loop, and 10 minutes to Lakeshore East, South Loop or the lake.
With plenty of restaurants, shopping, markets, and local businesses, it’s hard to find this low-rise, urban feel in many of the other downtown neighborhoods. Check out these local hotspots within walking distance of Linkt:
- Windy City Cafe – Offering breakfast, brunch and lunch in a cozy, comfy setting, Windy City Cafe is offering Linkt tenants 15% off their first meal. Check out their new menu starting April 1, 2017. It includes a new liquor program of hard alcohol, wine and craft beers. There’s even a Big Shoulders coffee and bourbon drink!
- Big Shoulders Coffee – Fresh-roasted artisan coffee…yum. Recently listed as one of the 6 Best Independent Coffee Shops in Chicago, you can stumble out of bed and drag your blanket in for a fresh cup of coffee heaven. Bring your own mug or ride your bike in and BSC will shave a quarter off that that cup of joe.
Rental prices at Linkt are extremely competitive. Studios start at $1600, 1 bedrooms at $2100 and 2 bedrooms at $2875. Pets are also welcome in all units (limit of 2 pets per apartment and breed/weight restrictions apply). Attached parking is extra but there is permit parking in the area.
With less than 50 units and leasing starting early in 2017, Linkt will fill up fast.
