400 N Lake Shore Drive: Exclusive Apartments in Streeterville
For the last couple of years, the small peninsula of land that that sits at the south end of the Streeterville has remained vacant. The area, surrounded by the Chicago River, was once identified as the future home of the Chicago Spire, but now is being developed into 400 N Lake Shore Drive, Streeterville’s luxury apartments.

The Designers and Developers
Previously planned as condos, Related Midwest originally acquired the property in 2014 with plans for a mixed-use community. Today, with the demand for luxury rental residences, converting to apartments makes a lot of sense.
Related Midwest is most recently known for the Chicago luxury apartments at One Bennett Park in Streeterville and OneEleven in The Loop. Teaming up with Skidmore, Owings, and Merrill for the design of 400 N Lake Shore should deliver an impressive and amenity-rich luxury high-rise that stands out in Streeterville.
The Perks of Living at 400 N Lake Shore Drive
Framing the mouth of the Chicago River, 400 N Lake Shore Drive will feature two impressive towers. The first tower will reach 1,100 feet and exclusively house 300 condo units and 175 full-service hotel rooms. The second tower, sitting at 850 feet will offer 550 luxury apartment residences.
Since the property extends into the Riverwalk, there are plans to revitalize the 3.3-acre undeveloped parcel of land east of 400 N Lake Shore Drive into a waterfront green space. Slated for 2023, we will update as more information comes out.
